Finder Chart is a visualization tool that allows cross-comparison of images from various surveys of different wavelengths and different epochs. In addition to web-viewable JPEGs, images in FITS format are also available for download either singly or in bulk. In this release access is provided to imaging data sets from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) , the Digitized Sky Surveys (DSS) (both First and Second Generation), and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS Data Release 7). Here is a summary of information on these datasets . Currently the table upload option is restricted to no more than 1000 positions. The service can be accessed by an HTTP program interface .

DSS and SDSS data do not reside at IRSA; the successful retrieval of DSS and SDSS data depends on the operations of the DSS and SDSS services.

Caution: Reprojected images maintain exact photometry whereas the default images use a nearest-neighbor pixel interpolation (faster) that cannot be used for photometric measurement.
