General
- Gator supports general queries of all source catalogs curated at IRSA.
Image Services
Finder Charts
- FinderChart is a visualization tool to cross-compare 2MASS, DSS and SDSS image data sets. It displays a finder chart showing the same region of the sky at various wavelengths and epochs, and supports user interaction with the images.
2MASS Images
- The 2MASS Image Services support access to the 2MASS Atlas (Full Resolution) and Quicklook images.
2MASS Ext. Srcs.
- The 2MASS Extended Source Image Server returns composite "postage stamp" images of extended sources, and basic extended source catalog information.
Mosaics
- On-request mosaics of 2MASS, SDSS, and DSS.
Cutouts
- Returns small "cutouts" of a user-specified size of image data sets archived at IRSA. Returns FITS and JPEG formats.
Inventories
IRSA Holdings
- RADAR is an inventory and data exploration service that generates an inventory of IRSA's science data products and supports one-click retrieval of data.
NVO Sky Coverage
- The NVO Sky Statistics Service generates source counts, coverage maps, and links to downloadable data for catalog holdings at IRSA, NED and VizieR.
Tools
OASIS Visualizer
- OASIS supports visualization of and interaction with data from astronomical archives, including IRSA, NED, CDS, STScI, LLNL, NRAO, AAVSO, HEASARC, and JPL.
Montage
- Montage is a toolkit for assembling FITS images into custom mosaics.
Image Validation
- The Image Validation service checks the syntax of a FITS file and that its WCS keywords are complete. 2MASS sources are overlayed on the image as a simple astrometric check.
Object Lookup
- Coordinate and Object Lookup uses NED and SIMBAD to retrieve coordinates for astronomical objects by name, and supports coordinate transformations.
QA Tools
- Quality Assurance Tools for IRSA data providers.
Dust Extinction
- The Dust Extinction Service uses the maps of Schlegel et al. to return the 100 µm intensity integrated along a line of sight through the Galaxy, and corresponding estimates of the Galactic dust extinction and dust temperatures. The service also returns maps of the reddening and elementary region statistics.
Data Tags
- Returns data encoded in a published Data Tag, which link science publications with archives.

Gator Aid Spatial Search

Gator supports simple cone (circular aperture) searches as well as elliptical searches. For a simple circular search, specify the search radius and leave the axial ratio and position angle fields blank. For elliptical searches specify the semi-major axis (a), the amount of ellipticity (the axial ratio, or a/b), and position angle of the ellipse, in degrees E of N.

Note that if table upload is selected, Gator will use the values of radius/semi-major axis, axial ratio and position angle entered by the user and override the values given in the table. If you want to use the values in the table, please make sure that the entries on this line are blank.
