2MASS 6X Lockman Hole (LH) Ancillary Data Atlas
You can get a close-up map of a region by clicking on any area in red on the above image, or by typing a coordinate below.
These Lockman Hole (LH) data represent a preliminary analysis of the deep 2MASS observations of this region, and are not a product endorsed by the 2MASS project. These data are described in The Astronomical Journal, Volume 125, Issue 5, pp. 2521-2530 "A Deep 2MASS survey of the Lockman Hole" by Beichman et al. [Also available in PDF and PS formats.]
The LH dataset is comprised of 2415 images; these are represented as overlays in red on the 2MASS background sky image above. Also available are 69115 point sources along with the image data. These are not displayed as overlays, but are in the results set of a search. Either type in a coordinate or click on any red region to get a close-up of the area; the size of the search is adjustable.
Also available are LH image "cutouts" using IRSA's Cutouts Service, which is a general tool to create single or multiple small FITS (and JPEGs) image cutouts of datasets archived at IRSA.
The service provided here will eventually phase out the previous IRSA LH ftp site. However, if you are accustomed to using that site, it can still be reached through here.
