The Spitzer Science Center and IRSA
have released a set of Enhanced Imaging Products
from the Spitzer Heritage Archive. These include enhanced
mosaic images (Super Mosaics), combining data from multiple programs where appropriate,
and a source list (SL) of photometry for compact sources.
The primary requirement on the SL is very high reliability -- with
areal coverage, completeness and limiting depth being secondary considerations.
The enhanced imaging products include data from the four channels of IRAC
(3-8 microns) and the 24 micron channel of MIPS.
The Preliminary Release includes all Super Mosaics that are smaller than
0.25 square degrees, plus data products associated with the SMOG, SWIRE-Lockman Hole,
and SDWFS/MAGES Legacy Programs. IRAC and
MIPS coverage of the Preliminary Release is shown above. The Preliminary Release Source List
contains 7 million sources. A release of the full set of
products for the Spitzer cryogenic mission will take place by the end of 2012.
The canonical paper for the Spitzer Heritage Archive Enhanced Imaging Products is Capak et al., in preparation.
