GLIMPSEI v2.0 Source Lists Data Release - 20070412 ===================================================================== 1. Overview ===================================================================== The GLIMPSEI 20070412 data release is comprised of IPAC Tables of the GLIMPSEI Catalog and Archive for the entire GLIMPSEI Survey (l=10-65 deg, 295-350 deg, b=+- 1 deg) plus the Observation Strategy Validation (OSV) region at about l=284 deg. These source lists REPLACE all previously delivered GLIMPSEI source lists. The SSC pipeline version used for the GLIMPSEI v2.0 source lists is mostly S13.2 (corrected for the jailbar effect), with an occasional re-observation processed with SSC pipeline version S14 or later. The highly reliable GLIMPSEI Catalog (GLMIC) consists of point sources that are detected at least twice in one band with a S/N > 5, and at least once in an adjacent band. There are also faint and bright flux limits on the Catalog entries. The more complete Archive (GLMIA) has less stringent criteria, namely two detections in any bands, those detections having a S/N > 5. The IRAC data were bandmerged with the 2MASS All-Sky Point Source Catalog. See the GLIMPSEI v2.0 Data Products Document for more details. Main changes in the processing since the GLIMPSEI v1.0 April 2005 Source list release ======================================================================================== The GLIMPSEI v2.0 processing incorporates improvements in the SSC processing and the Wisconsin IRAC pipeline and includes small amounts of new data taken to fill gaps in survey coverage. We are also providing 2MASS fluxes with the IRAC data, when available. v2.0 processing uses SSC pipeline processing version S13.2 or later which has improved pointing refinement to 2MASS positions and a new flux calibration (Reach et al 2005, PASP, 117, 978). The Wisconsin IRAC pipeline enhancements for the v2.0 processing include: muxbleed correction; better banding correction for band 3; more information included in the source quality flag; "lumping" of sources within 2" in the in-band and cross-banding merging (to lessen flux sharing between close sources); photometric correction applied (a function of position of the source in the IRAC frame); and a close source flag implemented (set if a nearby Archive source is within 3"). Miscellaneous Information ===================================================================== The nominal GLIMPSEI Survey region is l=10-65 deg, 295-350 deg; b= +- 1 deg. Due to the nature of the survey mapping, there are areas outside of the nominal survey region that were observed in 2 or more bands. There is a small amount of IRAC coverage from l=9.8-10 deg, l=65-65.3 deg, l=294.8-295 deg and l=350-350.3 deg. Also, we provide whatever sources detected from b=1.0 to 1.15 deg and b=-1.0 to -1.15 deg.
