Decin Models

IRS spectra are flux calibrated using observations of standard stars for which model atmospheres have been developed using the MARCS code. The stellar parameters, model atmospheres, synthetic spectra, and application to IRS photometric calibrations are described in Decin et al. (APJS, 154, p408, 2004). Although the MARCS models were provided by Leen Decin for calibration purposes, she is not responsible for IRS calibration issues.

In order to compare with IRS data, users will need model spectra that have been degraded to the spectrograph's resolution and sampling. These are presented in the table below. Alternatively, you can downoad all the degraded models together as a a gzipped tarfile (Tar File, 143 KB). Users should multiply the downloaded models by the appropriate scaling factor from the table.
