writePage +='    <b>The fourth Spitzer Science Symposium "The Evolving ISM in the Milky';
writePage +='      Way and Nearby Galaxies" will be held in Pasadena, CA from 2-5';

writePage +='The Spitzer 2007 Conference will focus on synthesizing recent results';
writePage +=' for the interstellar medium (ISM) and its interplay with star';
writePage +=' formation in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies.  In the Milky Way and';
writePage +=' Local Group galaxies we have an unparalleled view of the astrophysics';
writePage +=' of the interstellar medium.  Here we can study in detail the';
writePage +=' spatially-resolved energetics and the complex interplay of physical';
writePage +=' and chemical processes that govern the ISM.  The ISM is both a fossil';
writePage +=' record of past star formation and evolutionary processes and a natal';
writePage +=' medium for future star formation.  In the past three years, the';
writePage +=' Spitzer Space Telescope has provided a plethora of exciting results';
writePage +=' that have revolutionized our understanding of the ISM and star';
writePage +=' formation, particularly from large programs such as MIPSGAL, GLIMPSE,';
writePage +=' C2D, etc. How do these new discoveries of the local processes';
writePage +=' governing the ISM impact our understanding of nearby galaxies? How';
writePage +=' important are local processes when averaged over an entire galaxy? ';
writePage +='Legacy programs like SINGS and SAGE are two examples of rich and ';
writePage +='diverse sets of data for nearby galaxies where such questions may be ';
writePage +='examined?. ISM physics is the critical ingredient for turning gas and ';
writePage +='dust diagnostics into information about evolutionary processes such as ';
writePage +='star formation. The exceptional view of the far-infrared Milky way ';
writePage +='captured by Spitzer and the extraordinary data gathered from nearby ';
writePage +='galaxies marks a perfect time for a conference that synthesizes the ';
writePage +='most recent developments in the coupled fields of the ISM and Nearby ';
writePage +='Galaxies. ';
