Photometry of Bright IR Stars (Ks < 5 mag)

 

Stars brighter than ks ~ 5 mag are saturated even in Read 1 frames of 2MASS.  Therefore,

some non-standard algorithms must be developed in order to obtain photometry of these

stars.   Together with Gene Kopan and Raymond Tam, I have been trying to develop such

an algorithm for the pipeline.  Our goal is to reach 1sigma ~ 0.1 mag accuracy.  So far, we

have made the following 3 attempts.  The most recent one is still under development, which

at the moment seems very promisin

•  Voigt Function Fitting
•  Grand 1d PSFs
