PACS, June 23-25, 2010
SPIRE, June 28-30, 2010
Caltech, Morrisroe Building, 2nd Floor, Pasadena, CA
This Data School was primarily intended to support Herschel observers who already had data in hand through ongoing (GT and OT) Key Programs. We hosted, later in the year, a more general Data Processing Workshop intended for first time users of Herschel. The concept of the Data School was that users would mainly bring their own data to work on at the School and could expect a high level of support from experts during their stay. Although there were some presentations at the "School," much of the work would entail our teams helping users get the best out of their datasets. High-end, large memory compute machines were made available to the users. We expected teams to work together on their data using special accounts created on the compute machine servers. For some smaller tasks, it was sufficient to work on laptops, but for much of the work we expected that the users used the compute machines provided.
The School was split up into two separate programs, 3 days of PACS and SPIRE.
