We describe a near infrared transit survey that is being carried out
with the UKIRT Wide Field Camera. One of the main aims of this survey
is to search for transiting companions at wavelengths where lower mass
dwarfs (M and L types) are brighter. Such dwarfs are significantly
smaller than F-K stars, and a near infrared transit survey thus has
the potential to find smaller (even rocky planet) companions. Here we
report of the status of the survey to date, and discuss future
prospects.
