Cool Stars 14 - Submitted Abstract # 83 This version created on 05 October 2006 Doppler imaging of Li rich giants HD 109703 and HD 217352 Heidi Korhonen, Astrophysikalisches Institut Potsdam Klaus G. Strassmeier, Astrophysikalisches Institut Potsdam Igor Savanov, Astrophysikalisches Institut Potsdam We present first Doppler images for the two rapidly rotating, single K-giants HD 109703 and HD 217352. Optical spectroscopy and photometry are used to determine the fundamental properties of the two systems. Both stars appear to have higher than normal lithium abundance, non-LTE log n of 2.37 (HD109703) and 2.40 (HD217352), and are located at the end of the first Li dredge-up on the RGB. Photometric observations reveal rotational modulation with a period of 13.89 days (HD109703) and 17.94 days (HD217352). Also, signs of significant chromospheric activity are seen in the H alpha line of HD 109703. ----------------------------------
