Dupsrc Analysis V3 Processing

NOTE: Analysis is IN PROGRESS

Results of the duplicate source resolution processing using the test scans that cover the South1 and Equator1 fields are presented in this document.
Information regarding the catalog generation test fields is located at:
Catalog testfields
A discussion of the duplicate source resolution process is at:
Multiple Source Resolution

The selection process does eliminate some confusion aritifacts, diffraction spike artifacts, and all glints and persistence artifacts.
Duplicate source selection was run prior to DB_MAPCOR processing, therefore some confusion and diffraction artifacts remain in the data.
Additional checking was done to only include apparitions of good quality.
Apparitions were included if:

Average delta mags[J,H,K], delta RA(arcsec) and delta dec(arcsec) were computed for each overlap scan pair.
Histograms of these averages were made.
Two populations are shown on each histogram.
The BLACK histogram contains all averages regardless of number of matches in a paricular overlap pair.
The RED histogram reflects only the averages that had more than 10 matches in a particular overlap pair for the SNR>20 histograms and more than 100 matches in a particular overlap pair for the historgram with no SNR cut.

The number of matchs in a particular overlap pair is a function of source density and overlap coverage. Scans that overlap in RA will have a higher number of matches than scans overlapping in DEC. Also, the very low match counts are probably due to overlaps at the scan corners.

The histogram mean and standard deviation were computed and printed on each plot. The first value refers to the black histogram while the second refers to the red histogram.

SNR>20 histograms:

No SNR cut histograms:
