The 2MASS Large Galaxy Atlas (LGA) is a collection of custom-made mosaics
and additional data products for 649 extended objects, mostly galaxies. This
image atlas represents the first uniform, all-sky, view of galaxies as seen in
the near-infrared (2MASS JHKs) wavelength windows that are most sensitive to the
dominant stellar mass component of galaxies. The images allow close inspection
of diverse stellar populations, large-scale structures such as spirals, bulges,
warps and bars, and star formation regions of galaxies.
