FIDEL Spitzer and Ancillary Data
Far-Infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey
(FIDEL) contains sensitive and extensive far-infrared deep field observations with Spitzer to detect warm dust emission from hundreds of relatively ordinary starburst galaxies and active galactic nuclei at redshifts of 1 to 2 (7 to 10 billion years ago), and thousands more nearby. The survey also detected tens of thousands of high redshift objects at mid-infrared wavelengths. The program obtained data in three fields on the sky. The bulk of the data is in two fields, the Extended Chandra Deep Field South (ECDFS) and the Extended Groth Strip (EGS). A smaller amount of additional data was obtained in the GOODS-North area.

The second delivery (
DR2) of the Spitzer
data from the
FIDEL
Legacy Project, are
available here using spatial and visualization
tools. DR2 contains MIPS image
mosaics for all three FIDEL fields.
The sky coverage is shown on the FIDEL MIPS images above.
Either type in a coordinate or click within the
red outlined region to get a close-up of the
area; the size of the search is adjustable.
Search results will include cutout images
cropped to the search box as well as the
associated original images which overlap the
area of interest.
FIDEL image "cutouts" in FITS and JPEG format
are accessible using IRSA's
Cutouts Service.
