Overview

The Spitzer Extragalactic Representative Volume Survey (SERVS) is an 18 deg2 medium- deep survey to a depth of 20min (2 µJy) using IRAC (3.6 and 4.5 µm) imaging for 5 astronomical fields: ELAIS-N1, Lockman Hole (LH), XMM, ELAIS-S1 and Chandra Deep Field South (CDFS). It takes a complete census of the population of massive galaxies in the redshift range z ~ 1-6 within a volume of ~0.8 cubic Gpc to enable studies including that of galaxy evolution as a function of environment, especially at high redshifts. The area for each of the last three fields (XMM, ELAIS-S1, and CDFS) is later expanded upon by the Spitzer Survey of Deep Drilling Fields (DeepDrill). SERVS overlaps with both the Herschel-HERMES and SCUBA2-S2CLS far-infrared surveys as well as the VISTA-VIDEO near infrared survey.
